Far Far Away from the Madding Crowd

Image
Upon green hills where gentle breezes play, A village wakes to greet the golden light. No city horns disturb the break of day, Just birds that sing and skies serenely bright. The air is crisp, each breath a gift so pure, With streams that babble secrets as they run. Life moves in rhythms peaceful and demure, Unhurried hours beneath the warming sun. Fields stretch in green, and laughter fills the air, Neighbors share stories by the fireside’s glow. No restless race, no burdens hard to bear, Just simple joys that only dreamers know. Far, far away from crowds that rush and strive, Here, hearts find peace and truly learn to thrive. © 12-04-2024 Pastor Emmanuel Serto

Bungjang's Bounty

Image
Bungjang, the village where dreams take root; Just a stone’s throw from Tallian (if you’ve got a good boot!). Leijangphai’s not far, but who’s counting the miles? With soil this fertile, you can garden in style. Eggplants that strut like they own the place, King chilly peppers giving you that spicy face, Mangoes so healthy, the doctors just grin; And Assam lemons? Enough to cure any sin! The sun here’s warmer than Pherzawl’s, it's true, You’ll sweat like a mango, but that’s nothing new. Yet hearts beat warmer than weather or sky; You’ll always get greeted with tea and a pie. Neighbors compete for “Most Welcoming Smile,” And the gestures here linger, mile after mile. So visit Bungjang; bring your best jokes and cheer, For the real fruit harvest is laughter all year! And speaking of harvests, let me recount a feat: The night I arrived, it was time to eat. They boiled a medley: lady’s finger, peas on their leaves, Eggplant in the mix (and what else? Who believes?). At first, I stared ...

Divine Echoes in Tinsuong

Image
Today I walked where Pherzawl's heights ascend, Three kilometers' path through evening light; Where Tinsuong's gentle breezes sweetly blend, And weather's touch is neither warm nor tight. Her children play where golden sunbeams fall, The air a gift that soothes both heart and mind; While in the church, sweet voices fill the hall, A sacred peace, the rarest kind to find. The Hmar tribe's nightingale with silver tongue, Elder Lalbieklien with family near; His heaven-touched melodies divinely sung, Enriched our worship, made God's presence clear. What more could one desire than blessings shown? In rain, in fruit, in fields where rice has grown. © 14-07-2025 Pastor Emmanuel Serto

The Labubu Craze

Image
Labubu grins, a curious work of art ,   Kasing Lung’s dream, brought forth from the heart .   Pop Mart displays, collecting carts start ,   Lisa’s embrace gives trends a new chart . People of faith, consider your part , Not every craze should capture your heart . Fame’s shining lure can pull us apart , Discernment and wisdom must always take part . Enjoy what is lovely, but don’t let it chart A course that could lead your soul to depart . The world may entice with treasures and art , But truth and love must anchor your heart . Let light be your guide, not just what is smart , For faith is the truest and timeless art . © 2025 Pastor Emmanuel Serto
